    Mildred Ann Goolsby Weston

    October 2, 1937 - March 30, 2022

    Mildred Ann Weston, 84, died Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Riverwood Nursing Home in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born October 2, 1937, in New Albany, Mississippi, Union County, to Ivy Escar and Bertha Annell Jarrett Goolsby. She married her high school sweetheart Richard E. Hines of New Albany, Mississippi, June 7, 1957. They remained married for 25 years at which point they divorced. In 1988 she married Jack Dean Weston. Mr. Weston died of a heart attack four months after their marriage. At the time of her death her primary residence was in Atlantic Beach, Florida. She loved with all her being and was loved deeply by her children, grandson and great grandsons. She is survived by her daughter, Terry S. Hines (David Richardson) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, her son, Michael E. Hines (Timothy Henfling) of Atlantic Beach, Florida, her grandson Scott Hines (Kerri) and her grandsons Hunter and Carson Hines of Deatsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her loving sister Betty Haynes (Tom) of Ingomar, Mississippi, her sister-in-law Charlsey Goolsby of Myrtle, Mississippi and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Rodney Wayne Goolsby and E.L. “Sonny” Goolsby. She was a loving wife, mother, and home maker. She worked at Walmart as a customer service manager in Montgomery, Alabama, New Albany, Mississippi, Pass Christian, Mississippi, Fayetteville, Georgia, and Jacksonville, Florida as she moved with her children’s changing career locations. She was a team mother for both her son’s and daughter’s childhood sports teams and the family were avid campers where they boated, skied, cooked out, road mini motorcycles and enjoyed the other families of the camping club in which they were involved. She was there as an advocate to help solve every problem and offer sage advice to her children and grandson, Scott, who she helped raise. A small grave side service will be held Friday, April 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m.at Enterprise Cemetery with Brother Morgan Spencer officiating.
