New Albany-Joangelle “Joann” Henry Gaines, 91, departed this life at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County, Wednesday, March 9, 2022. She was born October 29, 1930 to Robert Henry and Flosy May Pervis Henry. She was a retired Home Economics teacher from Ingomar High School. Joann enjoyed collecting dishes, and many more things that caught her eye. The beauty in her soul was shown vividly in her artwork. She had the God-given ability to capture and bring to life all kinds of beautiful scenes. Even when time took its toll on many places, Joann, preserved them perfectly in her paintings. She has several paintings displayed in the Union County Museum. The love and relationship she had for her Lord, and for her family, was her greatest masterpiece. She was an avid member of Ingomar Baptist Church. Services for Joann will be Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2:00pm at Ingomar Baptist Church, with Bro. Rickey Haynes officiating. A visitation will be from 12:00 noon till the start of the service at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Ingomar Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Ted Gaines and Bob Gaines (Jackie); one sister, Lorain Ballard, and one, brother Bobby Henry (Francis), three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Flosy Henry, her husband, Gerald William Gaines, one son, Michael Henry Gaines.
